Notifications and Alerts

Hunhu sends automated notifications to keep agencies, providers, and consumers informed of activity relevant to them. This article covers what types of notifications the platform sends and how to manage notification preferences.

Types of Notifications

The platform sends notifications across several event categories:

Appointment Notifications

  • Booking confirmation — Sent to both provider and consumer when an appointment is created.
  • Appointment reminder — Sent before an upcoming session (typically 24 hours and 1 hour before).
  • Cancellation notice — Sent when an appointment is cancelled by either party.
  • Reschedule notice — Sent when an appointment is moved to a new time.

Agency and Provider Notifications (Agency Portal)

  • Provider invitation accepted — When a provider accepts your invitation to join your agency network.
  • Cross-agency request received — When another agency submits a provider sharing request.
  • Cross-agency request approved or declined — When your outgoing request is actioned.
  • New consumer referral — When a consumer is referred to a provider in your network.

Consumer Notifications

  • New message from provider — When a provider sends you a message through the platform.
  • Appointment updates — Changes to upcoming sessions.
  • Review request — After a completed appointment, an invitation to leave a rating and review.

Platform Announcements

  • Platform-wide announcements created by the Hunhu admin team appear as in-app banners and/or email notifications depending on their priority level.

Notification Delivery Channels

Notifications are delivered through:

  • In-app — Shown in the notification bell in the top navigation bar. Click the bell to view recent notifications.
  • Email — Sent to your account email address for high-priority events (appointment confirmations, cancellations, reminders).

Managing Notification Preferences

To update which notifications you receive and how:

  1. Go to Settings > Notifications in your portal.
  2. Toggle individual notification types on or off.
  3. For each type, select whether you want in-app only, email only, or both.
  4. Save your preferences.

Some notifications — such as appointment confirmations and security alerts — cannot be disabled, as they are essential to platform operation.

Not Receiving Expected Notifications

If you are not receiving email notifications:

  • Check your spam or junk folder for emails from noreply@hunhu.us.
  • Add noreply@hunhu.us to your safe senders list.
  • Verify your account email address is correct in Settings > Profile.
  • Confirm your notification preferences have not been set to in-app only.

If in-app notifications are missing, try refreshing the page. If notifications are consistently not appearing, contact Hunhu support.
